Diné Textiles

Just before the world shifted with the pandemic, I found myself in a Navajo weaving class at the Phoenix Indian Center. In that space, I began to carve out something that was wholly my own—room to exist as both a mother and an artist—while reconnecting with my Diné roots. There, among fibers and rhythm, I discovered a deep joy in textiles, in shaping and reshaping color into new patterns. It is a practice that both challenges and humbles me, the most demanding medium I have encountered, yet one that continues to pull me in with quiet persistence.
